After the stress-fest that was Christmas 06, I decided to be like my uber-organized sister and start making gifts early. January was spent catching up and cleaning up from last year but in February I started a scarf for my sister. She lives in FL and doesn’t need anything heavy so her scarf is made from lightweight 100% alpaca in her favorite color, lavender.
When it is finished and blocked it will look a little more lacy. It should be just the thing for those frigid 50 degree days in Naples. The yarn is Misti Alpaca sportweight and the pattern is the Falling Water Lace Scarf. Those are not cables, but shaping made with K2tog and SSK’s. Making this scarf has really helped me get used to reading charts instead of written instructions.
The scarf is a little over halfway done and should be finished by mid March.
