This garment is called a “skort” because it is a pair of shorts with a skirt around it. This one looks especially suited for golfing and hanging out at the country club.
I don’t like the word “skort” because it sounds harsh and gutteral to my southern-raised ears. Only Scandinavian/German speakers should be pronouncing words like that anyway. But I bought this one from a thrift store because the print was pretty and having shorts AND a skirt together means more fabric for a reconstruction purposes.
Now it is a pair of shorts for Gwen and a bib for a new baby girl that my mother knows. Now Gwen is all ready for the country club! I messed up on matching the front panels of the shorts but Gwen doesn’t care.
